What is Hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnosis is a brief strategic therapy that works on an unconscious level. It is nothing like stage hypnosis where the hypnotist puts the audience member “under” to perform tasks to entertain the audience.

In hypnosis:

  • The client feels very relaxed
  • The client enters a focused state of concentration
  • The brain is more receptive to suggestion
  • The mind is more open to visualisations creating a rich sensory experience
  • The client is always in control

Everyone can learn to be hypnotised, it is a natural state we experience everyday, for example when we are daydreaming or being absorbed in a film or reading a book.

The relaxed mental state we enter in hypnosis is ideal for therapeutic treatment.
