About Me:My background is not quite what you’d expect from a hypnotherapist. I have a Masters Degree in Art History, English language and literature, and Philosophy, which I obtained at Cologne University in 1996. Since leaving university I have worked in the media as a freelance journalist and in PR. In 2002 I moved with my Welsh husband from Germany to Wales, where I continued to work as a freelance journalist. I have always been passionate about health matters, in particular complementary therapies. As a long-term migraine sufferer I can empathise with people, who have to deal with chronic pain, and I found that listening to my body, being able to relax and taking time out is beneficial to my own overall health. My interest in hypnotherapy was kick started by my husband who suggested I try a session. I saw a practitioner and realised that this is what I would like to do myself: helping others to relax and explore their own inner resources to make positive changes in their lives. After researching different training providers I chose to train with the BST Foundation* in Nantgarw, Wales. The BST Foundation is a leading body in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Brief Strategic Therapy. Trainers of the foundation are recognised by the Royal College of Medicine and clinicians are led by a commitment to ethical practice. I graduated in summer 2008 and I am a member of the Society of Brief Strategic hypnoTherapists – SBST. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or like to book an appointment.
*The BST Foundation diploma is recognised by the General Hypnotherapy Register.
